{"id":5316,"date":"2023-01-04T21:13:20","date_gmt":"2023-01-04T20:13:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.dicea.unina.it\/?p=5316"},"modified":"2023-01-04T21:13:20","modified_gmt":"2023-01-04T20:13:20","slug":"medincircle-project-funded","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.dicea.unina.it\/en\/medincircle-project-funded\/","title":{"rendered":"MedInCircle project funded"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"s6\">The <\/span><span class=\"s7\">MedInCircle<\/span><span class=\"s7\"> (<\/span><span class=\"s6\">Future-proofing the <\/span><span class=\"s8\">Med<\/span><span class=\"s6\">iterranean agri-food cha<\/span><span class=\"s8\">in<\/span><span class=\"s6\"> through integrated and <\/span><span class=\"s8\">circ<\/span><span class=\"s6\">u<\/span><span class=\"s8\">l<\/span><span class=\"s6\">ar management of contaminant-safe wat<\/span><span class=\"s8\">and<\/span><span class=\"s6\">r, nutrients and bioresources<\/span><span class=\"s6\">) project has been funded in the framework of the PRIMA (<\/span><span class=\"s9\">Partnership for Research and Innovation in the Mediterranean Area<\/span><span class=\"s6\">) Programme<\/span><span class=\"s6\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"s6\">In the Mediterranean region, the nexus between global dynamics such as climate change, water scarcity and food insecurity, has the potential to lead to highly severe consequences. The agri-food compartment is particularly exposed to such consequences, and urgently calls for the implementation of innovative and eco-efficient solutions. In view of this, the<\/span> <span class=\"s7\">MedInCircle<\/span> <span class=\"s6\">project aims at advancing the state of the art of the circular management of water, nutrients and bioresources, fostering the transition towards a more sustainable and resilient agri-food chain. More specifically, <\/span><span class=\"s7\">MedInCircle<\/span><span class=\"s6\"> will pursue the development of a modular technological platform targeting the on-site treatment, recovery and valorization of water, wastewater and solid waste arising from typical Mediterranean agri-food activities.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"s6\">T<\/span><span class=\"s6\">he<\/span> <span class=\"s7\">MedInCircle<\/span> <span class=\"s6\">consortium is coordinated by the DICEA Department of the University Federico II (PI Prof. Giovanni Esposito) and has 5 further partners, <\/span><span class=\"s6\">i.e.<\/span> <span class=\"s6\">National Research Centre<\/span><span class=\"s6\">(Egypt), <\/span><span class=\"s6\">Institut<\/span><span class=\"s6\"> de Physique du Globe de Paris<\/span><span class=\"s6\"> (France), <\/span><span class=\"s6\">Institut<\/span><span class=\"s6\">de <\/span><span class=\"s6\">Chimie<\/span><span class=\"s6\"> des Milieux et <\/span><span class=\"s6\">Mat\u00e9riaux<\/span><span class=\"s6\"> de Poitiers<\/span><span class=\"s6\"> (France), <\/span><span class=\"s6\">Istanbul <\/span><span class=\"s6\">Medeniyet<\/span> <span class=\"s6\">\u00dcniversitesi<\/span><span class=\"s6\"> (Turkey) and <\/span><span class=\"s6\">Izmir Institute of Technology<\/span><span class=\"s6\"> (Turkey)<\/span><span class=\"s6\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"s6\">The total project cost is <\/span><span class=\"s7\">\u20ac 1.428.613,00<\/span><span class=\"s6\"> and the total funding is <\/span><span class=\"s7\">\u20ac 980.613,00<\/span><span class=\"s7\"> (\u20ac 488.000,00 <\/span><span class=\"s6\">to DICEA).
