Incoming Students Orientation Contact
prof. Stefano Papirio
At the Department of Civil, Construction and Environmental Engineering (DICEA), students are trained to contribute to shaping the future of cities and the planet by learning how to design existing structures, manage plants and infrastructure, plan land use and the use of natural resources, preserve and restore natural components, and enhance urban spaces and buildings.
By following the study programs at DICEA, in addition to attending state-of-the-art laboratories and having significant study and research opportunities abroad, students will gain an interdisciplinary background that will enable them to take a leading role in addressing some of the most complex challenges of our time, including: the design, construction, and management of water and transportation infrastructures; autonomous driving and electric mobility; water resource management; protection against hydrogeological hazards; sustainable urban development; land-use planning; coastal erosion protection; preservation and restoration of environmental quality; implementation of circular economy principles; technological transformation of buildings and cities; climate change mitigation interventions; pollution control; wastewater treatment; and waste management.
