Remote Sensing 2022 Best Paper Award

Department of Civil, Building and Environmental Engineering (DICEA) is proud to announce that our colleague, prof. Salvatore Manfreda, has been awarded by Remote Sensing with the Best paper Award 2022 (https://www.mdpi.com/journal/remotesensing/awards/1648)  for his manuscript on the use of Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) for Environmental Monitoring. It is worthy to mention that Remote Sensing nowadays is one of the TOP journals in the field of earth observation.

This work has been developed by an international partnership coordinated by prof. Manfreda within the context of the COST Action HARMONIOUS (https://www.costharmonious.eu/). It provides a practical guidance on the use of UAS in different environments and applications. It may represent a reference for many users and researchers in their everyday UAS-based activities. Moreover, the research group is still working on this project in order to provide guidelines for UAS environmental monitoring applications for the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).

This result testifies the effort of our department to carry out research activities to build new tools and knowledge for Engineering applications. Therefore, this result, besides a recognition of the value of the work, represents a gratification for the entire community of DICEA.
